Movies
• Letters Not About Love

This is a movie by Jackie Ochs with the film score by Larry Ochs. It is a revealing portrait of two poets, Lyn Hejinian from the US and Arkadii Dragomoshchenko from Russia. At the request of the film maker they began a five year correspondance based on a word list of ordinary words such as 'home,' 'book,' 'poverty,' 'violence.' They reflect on each word, considering its conventional meaning and what it means to them personally. These letters form the basis for a film that becomes a visual poem that illuminates the constructs of meaning in each culture.
